Text 13 Jan 13 notes Lets Buy Lion A House!

NOTE: No computer yet (been bombarding various friends for crucial internet time), which means i still can’t finish uploading the rest of the 45s I’ve promised you (the files are on my computer). Soon come, I promise. That said, I do have some news for y’all:

Up ‘til now, I’ve called upon the aid of several record dealers to sell some of these African bits in order to earn Lion and I some money. Unfortunately, this usually means your on someone else’s time, which sucks. Well, despite my utter disdain for the process that is ebay I’ve decided to throw my hat in the race and put up the first of (hopefully) many ebay auctions to come.

My plan is simple: raise enough money to buy Lion some land. Hell, within time, we may even have enough money to build something on that land. Hopefully.

Soooo, for all you record collectors out there I call on you to take a look at our on-going auction, which runs through Sunday, January 15 (PST). For those who need some encouragement, here’s a few of the records we’re selling:

…. and many more!

On a slightly different note, I wanted to share some of the pictures Lion’s bee sending me from his travels through Ghana and surrounding West Africa. Right before I left, I had mentioned to him that he should consider this site his own. Therefore, he should contribute to its content. Apparently, he took that to heart cause he’s been sending me a bunch of pics from his phone for the last few months. Here’s but a few:

This little girl brought out the water for a bath. Then proceeded to bring in a pile of African Brothers records. Awesome.

Lion loves this type of absurdity. Seriously. He’ll laugh for days about this kind of shit.

Taken over Nkrumah Circle. This picture brings back so many sweaty memories as it was a common meeting ground for Lion and I. From the looks of it, this was taken during off-peak hours. Come five o’clock, traffic would be at a standstill (in 100+ degree heat, no less). Gives me the shivers just thinking about it.

As Lion puts it: human traffic in the heart of Accra. December 24, 2011. This is probably the worst day to travel, as everyone is trying to head back to their home villages. Come new year’s, and Accra turns into a bit of a ghost town (well as much as it can be).
