Day 10 of 45:
This little experiment, 45 days of music uploads, was an attempt to motivate myself to jumpstart the process of cleaning, listening, and eventually posting the host of African 45s that lay dormant in my house. Needless to say, it’s been working out splendidly. Here’s but a glimpse of my efforts on the cleaning front:

I, unfortunately, don’t have access to a proper VPI record cleaner so all of the labor is done by hand. Note, I don’t recommend this particular technique, but It needs to be done somehow. Especially, since I just received a package from Lion and need to started making him some money. Hoping to get these out for a sale in Santa Cruz on Nov. 12th. If you’re around come through and check out this stuff firsthand.
Lastly, since it’s day 10 (a small milestone if you will) and I’m feeling particularly good about how things are going, I wanted to share one of my most treasured afro funk 45s: The Barbecues. two sides of massive moody funkiness. I wish I had more info on the group, but no such luck. For now, the music speaks for itself. Enjoy
The Baerbecues - 7’inch single
P.S. Here’s what these records look like BEFORE i clean them:

You can practically smell the African mold… mmmm…
